Welcome back!

We have returned with volume two of Tales of the Living Legends and we could not be prouder to be here! This time around we will be focusing our stories on the many different identities possessed by one Salvation Lincoln, known in our sister series Living Legends as Ghost Woman. We recently learned her past was far more complicated than we first expected. How complicated will start to become apparent in these pages.

So sit back, enjoy three new pages this week, and let us know what you think of “The Many Lives of Sally Lincoln!”

One week away!

We are now just one week away from the return of Tales of the Living Legends with the first few pages of “The Many Lives of Sally Lincoln!”. If you ever wondered the details and identities of all those other forms we saw while in the Abyss Sphere in the prose pages of Living Legends, this web-book is the place for you. In these pages, we will go through her lives one by one as we reveal more about the mysterious being that calls herself Sally Lincoln.

Stay tuned and we will see you in seven days!

The Good News and the Bad News

Coming out of National Novel Writing Month and getting back in to the swing of things for this site, I realized that while my writing on the prose version of Living Legends was in a place where I could start the next serial of stories on this site, my publication schedule was not.

So, you will not be seeing any new pages up on this site for the month of December. However, “The Many Faces of Sally Lincoln” are still on their way! On January 18th, the new pages of Tales of the Living Legends will start going live again!

Thanks for sticking with us, and in the meantime, go read some Arc!

Arc goes live… right now!

Do not forget: the second Evolution Comics series, ARC is now live!

Head over to her personal site as we debut the adventures of a truly different kind of hero. ED Vasquez is a social pariah, but her life changes when she meets Shania Wilder. But can even the two new friends deal with the consequences of ED’s transformation in to the electrically-charged hero Arc? And that is only the tip of the iceberg as the relationship between ED and Shania develops even as they deal with the dregs of life as the high school losers.

Revised Release Schedule

With the revisions of the Evolution Comics site, and the arrival of Arc in the near future, Tales of the Living Legends will now be on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday schedule.

And if you enjoy our stories, please check out our store and buy some swag. Not only do you get a nifty piece of clothing, you help support the people who make this site! And one-third of all profit after cost will be donated to the Hero Initiative in the names of the classic golden age comic creators!

Merchandise now available!

The first wave of Tales of the Living Legends merchandise is now available. You can click on the Merchandise link right above today’s comic or you can go straight to the store by clicking here.

Thanks for reading and thanks in advance to anyone interested in making Tales of the Living Legends swag their own!

Synchronicity and the Golden Age superhero

One of the nifty things about the Golden Age characters (and one of the more annoying from a licensing standpoint) is that anyone can use these figures. My versions of American Crusader, Black Owl, Dart, Golden Lad, etc., are my own. But anyone who wishes can take the classic characters and revitalize them and use them as they see fit. You can see it in Alan Moore’s Terra Obscura, Alex Ross’s Project: Superpowers, Erik Larsen’s Next Issue Project and Savage Dragon, and now you can see it online in Scott Austin’s Heroes Inc..

Heroes Inc. takes the characters from the Better/Nedor line of superheroes, the same characters used in Terra Obscura. These include one American Crusader, who seems to be a major player in the new strip. The series has only been running for about a week, but Mister Austin already seems to have a good handle on what he is doing. Definitely worth checking out.

New and improved! Bigger and better than ever before!

Wow, that title does make this sound great doesn’t it! And I think this announcement is a joyous one! Starting this week, Tales of the Living Legends goes from four days a week to five! And in celebration, I have actually packed this week with a bonus Saturday strip! So six more pages are coming your way this week! Enjoy!

A Confluence of Heroic Origins

Since I see a direct link between the origins of the American Crusader and one Doctor Manhattan, I thought I would point everyone in the direction of Super-Powered Fiction Files, specifically my thoughts on Watchmen! Enjoy and be sure to leave your thoughts on my thoughts on the thoughts of the people who produced the movie that came from the thoughts of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons. I really need some sleep. I think.

Living Legends continues to evolve!

So we have started our second Tale starring the American Crusader today. I have half a dozen more stories planned in the near future already, before I move on to expand the history of the Quadrant Universe with a few series unrelated characters. In the mean time, expect Captain Fearless and Amazing Man stories in the near future, as well as a few characters debuting soon in the prose saga.

I forgot in my welcome to give a couple important shout-outs. First, lettering impresario Nate Piekos and his website Blambot is owed a debt of gratitude for the many fine fonts used on this site. But even with those fine comic style fonts, Tales of the Living Legends would not be possible without the fine folks at Golden Age Comics Downloads, a fine bunch of comic aficionados dedicated to preserving classic comics through digital copies. They provide all the public domain comic pages used to bring you Tales.

So a salute to both of them. As you enjoy our new feature, make sure you take time to stop by their sites and check them out!
