So how well known was the concept of the force field back in the early forties? I certainly can say there isn’t many heroes that could make one, if any at all. So was this one of the first appearances of the concept?

Hey, folks, we’re going on our holiday vacation a little early, so no new page on Friday, but stay tuned as we continue our story in one week!

You know what I love about Golden Age heroes? It’s the fact that one of their powers always seems to be Identity Obfuscation. Because no matter how much you look like yourself in a costume, no one that knows you ever seems to recognize you.

Makes it way easier to mac on the ladies in your super-identity as well, with no consequences to the secret one. Way to go, Davey!

With Living Legends taking a break for the summer, Tales of the Living Legends moves in a whole new direction this week.. and for the next several months.

Starting today, we are going to work through one entire golden age comic as we explore the adventures of several heroes. We start out with the team of Magno and Davey, will move on to Dr. Nemesis (a character Marvelized by Roy Thomas in Invaders volume 2 and currently appearing in Uncanny X-Men), and in to Sword & Lance, one of which you will see a lot more of this summer!

In case you’re wondering, the exact comic is Super Mystery Comics #6. And remember, we will update every Monday and Friday with new pages.

And so concludes our tale! I had a lot of fun putting this together, and depending on how many more Molly O’Moore stories I can find to steal art from, I may very well produce more in the future.
